About
In the early spring of 2005 I was having a discussion with my wife Robin about our 25th anniversary cross country road trip which was still three years away. We both agreed that we would eventually need to look into purchasing a decent digital camera. Prior to this discussion I had never really given much thought to still photography and in fact did not even own a good 35mm camera. A self professed gadget freak, I was on line the next day looking for a respectable point and shoot digital camera. I immediately starting taking pictures and quickly realized that I was seeing everything differently. It didn't take long before I upgraded my equipment and developed a true passion for the art of photography.
I've been active in the arts since junior high school when I became interested in acting. Since then I have appeared in numerous professional and community productions at venues ranging from the Bucks County Playhouse to Wilmington's Grande Opera House. I am also a member of Barry & The 8-Tracks, an eclectic cover band doing our own "Barryfied" versions of tunes from Crosby, Stills and Nash to Sonny & Cher.
After all of those years of taking direction and following a script, I find it artistically liberating to create my own vision through the lens. Whether it be photographing a country landscape or a street person in Central Park, I often find it most satisfying to transform an ordinary subject into an image that creates a lasting story.
Currently I spend most of my time either shooting images for independent musicians to use in CD cover packages or setting up creative portraits for folks who want to capture a moment in time.
